China and India have agreed to resume Indian pilgrimages to Mount Gang Rinpoche and Lake Mapam Yumco this summer, Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun confirmed on Monday.

Gang Rinpoche and Mapam Yumco, both located in China's Xizang autonomous region, are sacred sites for Tibetan Buddhism, Hinduism and other religions, Guo said, adding that it's an important part of China-India people-to-people exchanges for Indian followers to pay pilgrimages there.

Noting that this year marks the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between China and India, Guo said China hopes to collaborate with India to implement important agreements made by their leaders, and promote the sound and stable development of bilateral ties.
