Guangdong key industries to hunt for talent nationwide
More than 200 enterprises and institutions in Guangdong province will offer over 14,000 jobs and 10,000 internships at a job fair in Chengdu, Sichuan province, on Saturday. The government of Zhanjiang city in Guangdong will host the event as part of a campaign to attract talent across the country.
Over 30 employers from Zhanjiang will provide positions at the fair, mainly from the city's green steel, petrochemical, energy, food and maritime industries.
Zhanjiang is leveraging its position at multiple national strategic intersections to step up the development of a modern coastal economic belt and strengthen its role as a provincial sub-center city, according to Li Yongyi, mayor of Zhanjiang.
Li hyped the city's "four green and one blue" industrial system, which involves the aforementioned industries. He said they will provide vast development space for talents near and far.
Heavyweights in those industries include Baosteel Zhanjiang, the Zhongke refinery and petrochemical project, and BASF's Verbund site.
