Members of China Storyteller Partnerships join 2025 Panjiayuan Cultural Festival

April 16 marked the inauguration of the 2025 Panjiayuan Cultural and Leisure Festival at Beijing's iconic Panjiayuan Antique Market. The event drew participation from international content creators hailing from Spain, Colombia, Venezuela, and Mexico, who experienced this innovative blend of heritage preservation and contemporary cultural engagement.

Spanning seven days, the festival highlights Panjiayuan's evolution into a modern cultural hub through antique exhibitions, culinary demonstrations, and traditional theatrical performances. "The 'Pocket Museum' initiative brilliantly merges accessibility with cultural exploration," said Laura, holding a specially designed check-in map. "It transforms heritage discovery into an engaging treasure-hunt experience."

Under the theme "A Museum Without Walls," the festival reimagines Panjiayuan's streets as living exhibition spaces. Foreign content creators embarked on a curated "Dynamic Cultural Corridor" tour, navigating through bustling antique stalls adorned with porcelain, traditional paintings, and handicrafts spanning multiple dynasties.

The cultural route connects major landmarks: Panjiayuan Antique Market, Beijing Antique City, Tianya Art Collection Center, Shanggu Cultural Relics Mall, and Beijing Glasses Mall.

Gao Fei, marveling at Beijing Glasses Mall, said, "This is not just a shopping paradise but also a window to understand Chinese eyewear culture."

A highlight included the Hengyuanxiang Building Museum, where creators admired intricate traditional textiles. "The artisans' mastery of time-honored techniques is extraordinary," said Rafael.

The foreign content creators live-streamed their experiences across social platforms, reaching millions globally. Rafael said, "We hope to show more people this 'Museum Without Walls.' It is not only a treasure of Beijing but also a bridge for world cultural exchange."
Ma Xusong, deputy secretary of the Panjiayuan Sub-district Office, expressed hope to attract more international friends to Panjiayuan and Chaoyang to witness how traditional culture dynamically converses with modernity.
