The district demonstrates leading economic density, investment intensity, and consumption enthusiasm, as well as openness among central urban areas nationwide. It accounts for one-seventh of the municipality's foreign-funded market entities, hosts 143 Fortune Global 500 companies and 420 internationally renowned brands and boasts a GDP of nearly 170 billion yuan ($23.4 billion).
