Karma Tsetan elected chairman of Xizang

Karma Tsetan has been elected the region's chairman, as announced at the third session of the 12th People's Congress of the Xizang autonomous region on Wednesday, Xizang Daily reported.
Karma Tsetan was born in 1967 in Joda county of Xizang. He is a member of the Communist Party of China and held multiple positions in the autonomous region before taking up the current position. In November 2024, he was appointed as the acting chairman of the regional government.
