One killed as blast rocks residential building in Shenzhen

One person was confirmed dead after a large boom was heard and a fire broke out Wednesday afternoon in a high-rise building at a residential complex in Nanshan district of Shenzhen, South China's Guangdong province, the local fire department said.
According to a news release by the Shenzhen fire department, the fire started at around 2:46 pm and was put out at 6 pm with no other injuries or casualties. The department dispatched 16 fire trucks and 80 firefighters to handle the situation, with reason of the fire pending investigation.
