Chinese, Cambodia media hold talks to enhance bilateral ties

On December 6, the ASEAN-China Centre (ACC) organized a Chinese media familiarization trip to Cambodia, as part of the visit to ASEAN countries under the theme of "Heritage and Harmony: Exploring the Heart of Southeast Asia". The press delegation held discussions with Cambodia's Minister of Information Neth Pheaktra and representatives from various media outlets, including Cambodian News Agency, Bayon TV, Khmer Times, Fresh News, Dap News, focused on enhancing media exchanges and cooperation between China and ASEAN, and between China and Cambodia.

Secretary General Shi Zhongjun of the ASEAN-China Centre highlighted that fostering media exchange and cooperation is one of the six key priority areas for the organization. In recent years, the center has actively hosted flagship events such as the China-ASEAN Media Cooperation Forum, media exchange visits, and "A Cloud Tour of ASEAN with the ACC", and built an interactive platform for media exchange between China and ASEAN, making contributions to promoting ASEAN and the China-ASEAN relationship as well as serving the development of the China-ASEAN comprehensive strategic partnership. The center is dedicated to leveraging its resources and platform to support the capacity-building of Cambodian media. It has collaborated with Cambodia's Ministry of Information on various initiatives, including combating misinformation, providing professional training for media workers, and sharing stories of friendship between China and Cambodia. These efforts aim to help build a community with a shared future between the two countries, strengthen public support for the stable and long-term development of China-ASEAN relations, and establish a solid foundation of public opinion.
