Chinese, Cambodia media hold talks to enhance bilateral ties

Cambodia's Minister of Information Neth Pheaktra, provided a detailed overview of the current development of Cambodia's media sector and the ministry's development plans. He noted that in response to the rapid changes in new media technology, the ministry is committed to promoting information dissemination services that align with current demands and creating a healthy and positive national information and public opinion environment. Currently, under the strategic guidance of both countries' leaders, the relationship between Cambodia and China is rapidly developing. The high-quality collaboration in building the Belt and Road Initiative has opened a new chapter in the traditional friendship between the two nations, which requires broader and more effective positive promotion. The ministry anticipates deepening cooperation with the center to jointly promote the traditional friendship between Cambodia and China, as well as the Belt and Road cooperation successes. Additionally, both parties seek to address misinformation and minimize any negative effects. At the same time, the ministry looks forward to the center's support in training media workers in Cambodia and improving media professional skills.

On the same day, the press delegation visited Bayon TV to engage in in-depth discussions on enhancing media cooperation between China and Cambodia and contributing to building a community with a shared future for both countries. Charles Van, the CEO advisor of Bayon TV, extended a warm welcome to the delegation. As one of the main TV stations in Cambodia, it has a wide influence in the country and plays an important role in information dissemination, cultural heritage and education popularization. Charles Van expressed his hope that this activity would serve as a chance to further strengthen the media's role as a bridge. He emphasized the importance of collaborating with ACC and Chinese media to deepen cultural exchanges, expand cooperation, and share the story of mutual development.

"Heritage and Harmony: Exploring the Heart of Southeast Asia" is aimed to promote exchanges as 2024-2025 is the China-ASEAN Year of People-to-People Exchanges. Journalists from Global Times Online, People's Daily Online, China Daily, a senior director and an online influencer from the Bilibili Company participated in the visit.
