Policies to support birthrate implemented
The General Office of the State Council on Monday issued a package of several measures to improve the policy system to support childbirth in China and promote the construction of a childbirth-friendly society.
The supportive measures also aim to strengthen the rights and interests in childbirth, education, employment and the social environment.
The notice also emphasizes enhancing housing policies. Encouragement is given to places with capacities to increase support for home purchases by families with multiple children and policies such as appropriately increasing the amount of housing loans.
Various channels will be utilized to increase the effective supply of affordable housing. For families meeting the criteria and having underage children, appropriate consideration will be given in terms of housing selection based on the number of their underage children.
