Hunan province's Xiangtan hit by two dike breaches

Two more dikes have been breached at a river in Xiangtan, Central China's Hunan province, according to the local publicity department.
According to a People's Daily report, a breach measuring more than 30 meters occurred at 1:40 pm in Xiangtian's Hekou township along the Juanshui River.
Search and rescue efforts are underway, and first responders are transferring affected people, the report said.
Xinhua News Agency reported another dike breach along the river's Huashi township section on Sunday night.
An official with the publicity department of the CPC Xiangtan committee confirmed the reports with China Daily on Monday. The official did not provide further details.
The river's water level was 0.3 meters higher than the previous record. Heavy rainfall has battered the Xiangjiang River region since Friday in the wake of Typhoon Gaemi.
