Govt issues funds for flood- and drought-hit areas

The Ministry of Finance, together with the Ministry of Water Resources, has issued 916 million yuan ($126 million) worth of central government funds for flood control in southern China, drought resistance in the north and especially for disaster areas on Wednesday, according to Xinhua News Agency.
Of the aid, 499 million yuan ($68 million) will be allocated to support Guangdong, Fujian, Guangxi, Guizhou, Yunnan, Zhejiang, Jiangxi, Hunan, Hubei provinces and other places for flood control.
417 million yuan will be allocated to support Hebei, Shanxi, Jiangsu, Anhui, Shandong, Henan, Shaanxi, Gansu provinces and other places for drought alleviation.
