School teacher executed for sexual abuse crimes

Luo Chongchuang, a former primary school teacher who committed crimes against his young students, was executed on Tuesday in South China's Hainan province.
It was found that Luo used his position as a primary school teacher to repeatedly rape four young female students between 2019 and 2021, and molested a total of 25 young female students over a prolonged period of time.
On April 4, 2023, the First Intermediate People's Court of Hainan province convicted Luo of rape and child molestation and sentenced him to death and deprived him of political rights for life.
Luo later appealed against the initial judgment. The Hainan Higher People's Court ruled to reject the appeal and upheld the original sentencing, and submitted the case to the Supreme People's Court for final approval. The review conducted by the Supreme People's Court confirmed the clarity of the facts, the reliability of the evidence, the accuracy of the conviction, the appropriateness of the sentencing and the legality of the trial procedure, leading to the decisive ruling to approve the death penalty for Luo and permanently revoke his political rights.
The First Intermediate People's Court of Hainan province upholds the principles of legal fairness and human dignity by arranging for Luo to have a final meeting with his close relatives before the execution.
