30 young Chinese, 20 organizations awarded highest youth honor
BEIJING -- China has decided to honor 30 individuals and 20 organizations for their exemplary role in leading young people to strive forward and make contributions to building a modern socialist country.
The Central Committee of the Communist Youth League of China and the All-China Youth Federation announced the decision to confer the 28th China Youth May Fourth Medal, according to an official statement on Monday.
The awardees include college professors, a grassroots Party official, an aviator, a railway designer and a disabled athlete, among others from various walks of life.
Among the awarded units are a construction team working with the Jakarta-Bandung High-Speed Railway, an international medical aid team combating malaria and a team dedicated to the digital protection of cultural relics at the Dunhuang Academy.
