Three people were killed and two others injured in an accident on Wednesday at Longxin Mining Co in Yudu county, East China's Jiangxi province, said local authorities late on Thursday.
The company specializes in washing fluorite ore and operates independently. During the cleaning of the flood discharge tunnel, a water burst occurred, and the workers were swept into the sedimentation tank, according to a statement from the county's emergency management bureau.
The first responders arrived immediately and conducted rescue and disposal work. The injured were taken to the hospital, where their condition was stable.
