One dead, nine injured in car crash in Chongqing

A car accident that occurred on Saturday in Chongqing's Banan district has led to one pedestrian being killed and nine injured, according to the local government.
At around 6 pm on Saturday, the 30-year-old driver, surnamed He, was driving his car from Banan district to Nan'an district. Due to improper operation, the vehicle lost control and veered off the road at Jiugongli Railway Station on Yunan Avenue in Banan, injuring 10 pedestrians.
He has been taken into custody by the police, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs has been ruled out. The accident is currently under further investigation.
