Pear blossom festival a big draw in Guanxian

The pear blossom festival in Guanxian county, Liaocheng, Shandong province, has been a major attraction since April 1, captivating visitors with its stunning displays. Scheduled to run until April 15, the festival has meticulously crafted 20 distinctive landscape scenes, offering attendees a captivating experience of springtime blossoms.

In addition to the breathtaking scenery, the event has featured 10 themed activities, contributing to an impressive visitation count that has exceeded 200,000 as of April 11.

Wang Dongmin from the provincial capital, Jinan, expressed his delight: "Since 2018, I have been bringing my family to the festival to admire the beautiful pear flowers, and experience the local customs and rural charm."

The festival serves as a pivotal element in the local authorities' endeavors to enhance rural tourism.

Liu Xiaojing, head of the county's publicity department, highlighted the significant growth in tourism, noting that in the previous year, Guanxian welcomed 2.59 million tourist visits, signifying a remarkable 61.7 percent increase compared to the year before.
