Fatal bus accident kills three and injures seven in Jiangxi
Three were killed and seven others injured in a road accident on Monday in Nanchang, Jiangxi province, when a bus suddenly drove toward pedestrians at an intersection.
At around 11:40 am, a bus collided with pedestrians at the intersection of Dieshan Road and Shengli Road in Donghu district, killing three and injuring seven others.
The injured were immediately taken to the hospital, according to a statement from the local traffic administration bureau at noon Monday.
The driver of the bus, a 51-year-old male, has been taken into custody by the police.
According to the preliminary investigation, the driver lost consciousness due to sudden heart discomfort while driving.
The exact cause of the accident is unknown, and an investigation is underway.
