Shanghai Children's Library decorated in dragons to welcome Spring Festival

To usher in the Year of the Dragon, Shanghai Children's Library has placed decorations of dragons in many forms to celebrate the upcoming Spring Festival with its young readers.
The mascot of the library put on a new dragon costume to send New Year wishes to young readers arriving at the facility. Decorations, such as dragon signs and Chinese knots, are put in many places to create a festive atmosphere.
From the Chinese New Year's Eve to the 15th day of the lunar calendar, around 80 events will be held at the library to help children better enjoy the traditional flavor of Chinese New Year through reading.
They will include a special dragon-themed exhibition of 100 children's paintings, where children are encouraged to interpret the Chinese zodiac culture with a variety of art languages and experience the charm of traditional Chinese culture.
Shanghai Opera House will be invited to hold a performance before the Spring Festival. Also, shelves with selected books themed dragon and traditional culture have been prepared for young readers.
The library also said that more than 1,000 express delivery parcels have been sent to children's homes all over the city after it launched online book borrowing service on Jan 20, when the winter vacation for students in the city kicked off.
