The opening concert celebrating the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic ties between China and France and the launch of the China-France Year of Culture and Tourism took place at the Royal Opera of the Palace of Versailles in Paris on Jan 31.
Around 500 guests from fields including politics, economy, culture and tourism from both China and France attended the concert.
China National Traditional Orchestra and the Orchestra of the Royal Opera of Versailles collaborated to stage the concert, bringing a program of a series of classical and contemporary compositions featuring a fusion of Chinese and French musical characteristics.
The concert was co-hosted by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Chinese embassy in France, with support from the Ministry of Culture of France.
