Data shows Party's anti-graft efforts in 2023
The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China and the National Supervisory Commission said on Thursday that they imposed disciplinary and administrative punishments on 49 provincial and ministry level officials in 2023.
Another 3,144 officials at department level were also given such punishments, CCDI and NSC said in a statement.
In 2023, discipline inspection and supervision organs across the country received about 3.45 million complaints tipoffs and handled about 1.73 million clues.
They also filed 626,000 cases for investigation, including 87 officials under the management of Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee, 3,456 officials at department level and 61,000 village cadres.
The authorities imposed punishments against 610,000 people, including 498,000 people receiving Party disciplinary punishment and 162,000 receiving administrative punishment.
Furthermore, they investigated bribery givers and takers at the same time, putting 17,000 bribery givers under investigation and transferring 3,389 to procuratorial organs for prosecution.
