Hangzhou volunteers rescue over 950 cats
On Monday, volunteers called for foster care facilities to take in more than 950 cats found in a wagon intercepted by the local authorities in Yuhang district in Hangzhou, Zhejiang province over the weekend.
The Hangzhou Animal Protection Volunteers Team's WeChat account reported that several cats, some of which had collars around their necks, were discovered on a wagon at the Renhe Community in Yuhang. They were later temporarily relocated to a pet hospital in Hangzhou on Saturday.
Hangzhou resident Yang lost her 2-year-old Ragdoll cat on Friday. Thanks to the volunteers, she was reunited with her cat on Sunday afternoon, as it had been found among the cats in the wagon.
According to the account, the wagon's driver has been detained by the local police, and all the cats rescued "remain in good condition so far."
