Groundbreaking perovskite solar project connects to grid in Inner Mongolia

On Nov 29, the Inner Mongolia autonomous region grid connected the world's first commercial megawatt-level perovskite ground photovoltaic project.
Located in the Kubuqi Desert, the project covers an area of 40 mu (2.6 hectares). It has an installed capacity of one megawatt and 11,200 perovskite photovoltaic modules.
Perovskite is a new type of solar cell material and is highly efficient, stable and inexpensive, making it essential for the future of photovoltaic technology development, experts said.
To promote the application and development of perovskite photovoltaic modules and explore large-scale commercial operation, China Three Gorges Renewable (Group) Co Ltd researches the application of perovskite solar cells under typical climate environments.
