Wine industry base opens at Helan Mountain in Ningxia

A wine industry base started its trial operation at the eastern foot of Helan Mountain in Ningxia Hui autonomous region on Tuesday to boost local economic development.

The base, Dulaan Holiday Stroll, is a wine industry complex that includes grape farming, brewing, culture and art, and exhibition. It boasts 58 wine enterprises which have won many prizes in international wine competitions. Their products have been exported to over 40 countries and regions.

The base is an important part of the region's wine industry. It aims to promote regional integration and build the eastern foot of Helan Mountain into a cultural tourism industrial belt.

"The base is an example of the integrated development of the wine and cultural tourism industries," said Yu Fang, deputy director of the agriculture and rural affairs bureau in Helan county.

Yu added that from the base, the county will expand its industry chain and foster new tourism forms such as cycling tours, homestays and self-driving camps, to infuse the local tourism project with regional charms.
