Shanghai hosts celebration of crab culture

The festival's judging panel was made up of industry professionals from Shanghai Ocean University and renowned chefs.
China's crab production is currently stable and has an annual yield of about 800,000 tons worth 70 billion yuan ($10 billion), according to Wang Chenghui, a professor from Shanghai Ocean University.
Wang said the quality of crabs is now much higher than the past as the focus of the industry has shifted from quantity to quality over the years.
