Ambassador speaks highly of cooperation between Chinese and British scientists


On 23 October 2023, H.E. Ambassador Zheng Zeguang attended and delivered remarks at the opening session of the Fourth Policy Dialogue on Defossilising Industrial Processes jointly organized by the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Royal Society.
Ambassador Zheng spoke highly of the long-standing cooperative relationship between the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Royal Society and extended warm congratulations on the holding of the dialogue. He said that as a distinctive feature of the Chinese path to modernisation, China is taking concrete actions to achieve green, low-carbon development. And the UK has announced its goal for net-zero by 2050. Collaboration in scientific research on defossilising and renewable energy between Chinese and British scientists will benefit green transition in both countries as well as global sustainable development. The Chinese government supports academic exchanges and mutually beneficial cooperation between scientific communities of the two sides. And the Chinese Embassy in the UK stands ready to facilitate such cooperation.
During the opening session, Hou Jianguo, President of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Sir Adrian Smith, President of the Royal Society, also delivered remarks. Chinese and British scientists had in-depth discussions on "Defossilising Industrial Processes".
