Chengdu hosts the world's largest sci-event, including Hugo Awards Ceremony

The 81st World Science Fiction Convention will open on Wednesday night in Chengdu, Sichuan province, and last until Sunday. Chengdu is the first Chinese city, and second in Asia, to host the world's largest sci-fi event. This year's slogan is "Meet the Future".
The winners of the 2023 Hugo Awards, the world's top prizes for science fiction literature, will be announced at the Hugo Awards Ceremony on Saturday.
Chengdu has a vibrant sci-fi culture. It is home to Science Fiction World magazine, which was first published more than 40 years ago and is the most influential sci-fi magazine in China. Science Fiction World magazine has helped many Chinese writers bring their imagination to print.
The magazine was the investor of The Three Body Problem by Liu Cixin, who is the only Asian writer to win the Hugo Award for Best Novel, which he did in 2015.
