Vice-president of Beihang University under investigation
Zhang Guang, vice-president of Beihang University, is under discipline review and supervisory investigation on suspicion of serious violations of Party discipline and national laws, the country's top anti-graft watchdogs said on Sunday.
The announcement was released in a statement issued by the Communist Party of China Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervision Commission.
Zhang, born in 1973, is also a standing member of the Party committee of the university, which was formerly called the Beijing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics.
According to public information, the official, who has a PhD in engineering, started his career in 2002 and was appointed the vice-president in 2019.
Previously, Zhang had served as the dean of the university's College of Continuing Education and Flying College. In addition, he also took charge of two companies affiliated to Beihang university as the general manager of the university's Education Group and the chairman of BUAA Holdings Co Ltd.
