CPC department marshals funds to support flood relief
The Organization Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee has allocated a fund of 44 million yuan ($6.12 million) from Party fees to support Beijing, Tianjin and Hebei province in their flood prevention and disaster relief work.
The fund will be promptly allocated and mainly used to support grassroots Party members, cadres and the masses who are fighting on the frontlines, the department said, adding it should also be used to provide assistance and repair damaged educational facilities.
The department said regional provinces should make every effort to carry out flood prevention and disaster relief work, minimize loss of life, safeguard the safety of people's lives and property and maintain social stability.
Leaders at all levels should strengthen their emergency command and Party members should take the lead in flood prevention and disaster relief, it added.
Due to extreme precipitation from Typhoon Doksuri in northern China, areas along the Yellow and Huaihe rivers and other places, flooding and geological disasters have occurred.
