People start their first startup for various reasons and Liang Yuyang, the founder of a company specializing in temperature monitor device production, has a deeply personal and touching motivation behind his venture.

In 2014, his daughter, who was a young child at the time, had a weak immune system and was prone to getting fevers. As a caring father, he had to frequently wake up during the nights to monitor her temperature.

In order to better monitor his daughter's health condition, he invented a remote sensing temperature device that can be attached to the body and is the size and shape of a button.

This device automatically measures the patient's body temperature every 2 seconds and transmits the data to Liang's mobile phone. If the temperature exceeds a certain threshold, the mobile phone automatically sounds an alarm.

That device has laid the foundation for his startup, Miaomiaoce (monitor each second), an 8-year-old company which develops and manufactures intelligent temperature and humidity detection instruments.

Liang shares his story in the second season of Zhuan Jing Te Xin Yan Jiu Yuan (Specialized and Sophisticated SMEs Research Institution), a popular TV show which saw its first season garnering more than 300 million views online and was listed as a trending topic for 102 times on the country's major social media platforms including Sina Weibo.

Continuing its style to invite influential entrepreneurs and insiders to provide valuable advice and support for founders of small and medium-sized enterprises, the new program plans to follow a total of 12 such enterprises, covering various fields from information technology to integrated circuits and pharmaceuticals, to explore the human-interest stories behind each company.

In this season, the veteran advisers include Han Xu, vice-president of Bank of Beijing; Su Guobin, deputy director general of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Economy and Information Technology, and Dong Mingzhu, chairwoman of Gree Electric Appliances.

The second season — produced by Beijing Radio & Television Station — has been broadcast on Beijing Satellite TV since July 19.
