Supplies sent through the Gongbei port in Zhuhai, Guangdong province, to Macao increased significantly during the Dragon Boat Festival holiday, according to local customs authorities.
About 1,914 metric tons of fresh products worth about 2.55 million yuan ($352,510), representing a year-on-year increase of 27.5 percent in goods value, were transported from the port to Macao from Thursday to Saturday, Zhakou Customs said.
"Supplies of vegetables, fruits and eggs to Macao during the festival increased slightly compared with previous years," said Li Jianwei, a manager of the fresh food department of the Zhuhai-based Namyue Food and Aquatics Co.
