Guizhou offers escape from summer heat
Guizhou province has adopted preferential policies to promote summer tourism, introducing them at the 19th China (Shenzhen) International Cultural Industries Fair, which kicked off on Wednesday.
Crowds from around the country converge in Guizhou to escape the summer heat for a period lasting up to three months. The province is encouraging tourists to come and enjoy the province's cooler temperatures, which hover around 24 C in summer.
Policies include free admission to A-level tourist attractions for children 6 and below, those aged 60 and above and students of primary and middle schools and colleges. A 50 percent discount will be offered for visitors from other provinces and regions, and the validity of the promotion will last from June 16 to Aug 31.
