High-tech takes center stage at Chongqing film summit
Yongchuan Technology Studio — China's largest digital technology studio, which uses virtual shooting technology for the entire movie creation process — showcased its abilities in Chongqing's Yongchuan district during the China Film Technology Innovation Summit and the 14th China Film Technology Forum on Friday.
The set, which included three 3,000-square-meter virtual filming studios and one 1,000-square-meter mobile capture studio, could accommodate 1,000 crews for shooting at the same time, local authorities said.
The China Film Technology and Innovation Expo, which was held at the studio during the two-day event, showcases large-scale extended reality (XR) and LED virtual filming technology. It is said to have the largest curved LED virtual filming screen in Asia.
The exhibition also presented the high-end filming techniques of 18 filmmakers from across the country.
