The institutional reform of China’s State Council passed at the just-concluded two sessions is an important signal for China’s high-quality development.

Liu Dongchao, a professor in the department of literature and history research at the Party School of the CPC Central Committee, and Harvey Dzodin, a senior fellow at the Center for China and Globalization, shared their views on the significance of China’s institutional reform.

Liu said the reform of the Party and State institutions is part of the CPC and the Chinese government’s consistent self-improvement plans and the latest reform is very necessary because of increasing international and domestic challenges.

Dzodin pointed out that China’s progressive development has been people-oriented and highlighted that the United States is bullying and passing the buck, all of which are short-sighted moves that are creating great risks for the world.
