Sun Yeli appointed new minister of State Council Information Office

Sun Yeli has been appointed the minister of the State Council Information Office by the State Council, on Tuesday.
Sun, who is also vice-minister of the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, was the spokesman for the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, which was held in October last year.
Sun, 58, a native of Shandong province, studied at Peking University majoring in history from September 1981 to July 1988 and received his bachelor's and master's degrees there.
He worked in the Party Literature Research Center of the CPC Central Committee from July 1988 to March 2018. Then, he became the vice-president of the Institute of Party History and Literature of the CPC Central Committee.
