Former tobacco official under scrutiny by watchdogs
He Zehua, a former member of the Leading Party Members' Group and deputy director of the State Tobacco Monopoly Administration, is under disciplinary review and supervisory investigation nearly nine years after he retired, according to the country's top anti-graft watchdogs.
The Central Commission for Discipline Inspection of the Communist Party of China and the National Commission of Supervision issued a statement on Friday, saying that He is suspected of seriously violating Party disciplines and national laws and is under disciplinary review and supervisory investigation by the CCDI and NCS.
He spent many years working in East China's Jiangsu province. He served as secretary of the Leading Party Members' Group of the Anhui Provincial Tobacco Monopoly Bureau from 2000 to 2003.
He was appointed deputy director of the State Tobacco Monopoly Administration in July 2003 and retired from the post in 2014.
