Shandong gets new Party chief
Lin Wu has been appointed by the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China to take over as Party secretary in Shandong province, according to Xinhua News Agency on Thursday.
Lin, former Party secretary of Shanxi province, will replace Li Ganjie in Shandong. The CPC Central Committee decided that Li will no longer serve as Shandong's Party chief, or as a member of the Standing Committee and the CPC Shandong Provincial Committee.
Li, born in November 1964, was elected as a member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee in October.
Lin was born in February 1962 in Fujian. He became governor of Shanxi in January 2020 and then Party chief in May 2021.
Lan Foan will replace Lin as Party chief in Shanxi. Born in June 1962 in Guangdong province, he was appointed governor of Shanxi in June 2021.
