Yantai joins Russian sister city in cultural week

A cultural sharing week is underway between the sister cities of Yantai, Shandong province, and Rostov-on-Don, Russia, to promote communication and cooperation.
A variety of cultural performances including paper-cutting, Chinese calligraphy, singing, dancing and sand painting were staged during the launch on Wednesday to showcase Yantai's charm.
Yantai and Rostov-on-Don established a sister-city relationship in 2017 and have carried out cooperation in various fields, such as education, science, technology, and culture, said Wang Xiaojuan, director of the Yantai publicity department.
It is expected that the two cities will continue to find opportunities under the Belt and Road Initiative use their sister city relationship as a bond to jointly create a bright future of bilateral relations, Wang said.
