President Xi Jinping has encouraged young people in Saudi Arabia to learn the Chinese language well and make new contributions to enhancing friendship between the two countries, and also between China and Arab nations.

Xi made the remark in a recent reply to some representatives of people studying Chinese in the Arab country, which he is currently visiting on a four-day trip.

Learning a language is the best way to learn about a country, Xi said, noting that he was delighted to know that they have learned about a colorful, multidimensional and panoramic China through studying Chinese and participating in the "Chinese Bridge "program.

As Chinese people and Saudi Arabian people strive to realize their respective great dreams, Xi said that learning each other's language and knowing more about each other's history and culture will help to promote mutual understanding and friendship between the peoples.

It will also contribute to the building of a community with a shared future for mankind, he added.

Xi stressed that the younger generation is the future of China-Saudi Arabia and China-Arab friendship, calling on the students to study hard and make new contributions to friendship.

He welcomed the students to visit China, enhance mutual understanding with Chinese young people and develop long-lasting friendship with them, in order to jointly create a better future for China-Saudi Arabia and China-Arab relations.

Recently, more than 100 young people in Saudi Arabia who are learning or love the Chinese language wrote a letter to Xi, sharing with him their feelings and expressing their hopes to know more about China.
