More world leaders mourn former Chinese leader Jiang Zemin

BEIJING - Leaders of many countries and international organizations continued to express their deep condolences via phone, letters or other means to Chinese President Xi Jinping over the passing of former Chinese leader Jiang Zemin.

Indian President Droupadi Murmu, Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe, Armenian President Vahagn Khachaturyan, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Ghazouani, Chairman of the Presidential Council of Libya Mohamed Menfi, Democratic Republic of Congo President Felix Tshisekedi, Equatorial Guinean President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, Gabonese President Ali Bongo Ondimba, Liberian President George Weah, Surinamese President Chandrikapersad Santokhi, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic, Bulgarian President Rumen Radev, Albanian President Bajram Begaj, Maltese President George Vella, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Thai Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' al-Sudani, Papua New Guinean Prime Minister James Marape, Fijian Prime Minister Josaia Voreqe Bainimarama, New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern, International Olympic Committee President Thomas Bach and New Development Bank President Marcos Troyjo have expressed condolences over Jiang's passing to the bereaved family, the Chinese government and the Chinese people.
