Three senior officials have been expelled from the Communist Party of China and removed from their posts over serious violations of Party discipline and national laws, according to the top anti-graft bodies.

Liu Yanping, former head of the top anti-graft authority's discipline inspection and supervision office at the Ministry of National Security, was expelled from the Party and removed from his post, according to a statement issued by the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission on Thursday.

It said Liu participated in the political group of Sun Lijun, the former vice-minister of public security, engaged in the exchange of political interests, speculation and manipulation of politics.

Liu abused the power of public security and used it to obtain political capital and solicit money.

He was also engaged in superstitious activities, interfered with the investigation, lived a corrupt life, occupied more houses, and accepted the arrangement of playing golf and golf club memberships offered by private business owners, it said.

Liu failed to cooperate with investigation when the Party sent letters for inquiries, helped others in the appointment of cadres and employment, engaged in power and money trade, helped others in business operations and accepted huge amounts of money and property.

Liu, 67, began working in 1974 and had worked in the public security system for a long time. He was placed under investigation in March.

In another case, Hao Chunrong, former vice-governor of Liaoning province, was expelled from the Party and removed from her post, said another statement issued by the CCDI and NSC on Thursday.

Hao resisted organizational inspection, accepted gifts and money, attended banquets that may have affected the impartial performance of her duties, concealed personal matters for a long time and helped others get promoted and obtain prominent positions.

She also helped others in project examination and approval, project contracting and other aspects, and illegally accepted a huge amount of property.

Hao, 59, has worked in Liaoning for a long time. She became the vice-governor of Liaoning in January 2018. She was placed under investigation in March this year.

Another statement issued by the CCDI and NSC on Thursday said that Wang Bin, former Party secretary and chairman of China Life Group, refused to implement the major decisions and plans made by the CPC Central Committee on preventing and defusing financial risks, and his behaviors created and amplified those risks.

Wang appointed people using favoritism and polluted the political ecology where he worked. He contradicted supervision, interfered with the investigation, and also accepted gifts, money, travel arrangements and banquets that may have affected the impartial performance of his duties.

He failed to report personal issues as required, used a huge amount of money from management and service clients, illegally owned shares in unlisted companies and intervened in market economic activities.

Wang, 64, has worked in the financial system for a long time. He became the chairman of China Life Group in 2018 and was placed under investigation in January this year.

Anti-graft authorities have completed the investigation of the three. Their cases and stolen money will be transferred to the procuratorial organs for prosecution.
