Restaurants' labor crunch hits not only eateries, but also customers

Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, labor shortages have repeatedly hit the US food service industry, affecting not only restaurants and their employees, but also their customers. According to the National Restaurant Association, as of May, the industry still had about 750,000 fewer jobs, which is 6.1 percent of the workforce, than it did before the pandemic.
