Linshuan holds countywide nucleic acid tests
Linshui county in the city of Guang'an, Sichuan province, will start a countywide nucleic acid testing for all its inhabitants, including those belonging to the category of the floating population, from 2 to 6 pm today.
During the time, all its supermarkets and farm produce markets will stop operation, according to the Linshui county emergency response headquarters for COVID-19.
Linshui reported 48 confirmed locally transmitted COVID-19 cases and 147 local asymptomatic cases on Tuesday, the Guang'an city health commission said on Wednesday.
The latest statistics from the Guang'an commission show the county had accumulated 96 locally transmitted COVID-19 cases and 683 local asymptomatic cases by Tuesday, which has drawn growing attention to this small county's efforts in curbing the infection.
Sichuan's latest COVID-19 epidemic started in Linshui on May 9 when it reported three local asymptomatic cases.
The province reported 49 confirmed locally transmitted COVID-19 cases and 152 local asymptomatic cases on Tuesday, the provincial health commission said on Wednesday.
