Beijing finds no unexplained children's hepatitis cases

Beijing has not found any cases of unexplained children's hepatitis or any death caused by the disease, the Beijing Municipal Health Commission announced on their official social media account on Wednesday.
Previously, the commission asked several local hospitals to pay attention to children with unexplained hepatitis if found.
The commission said the aim of the announcement was to raise awareness of the fact a number of unexplained children's hepatitis cases have been reported around the world and several sick children have received liver transplants.
Reuters reported on Tuesday the outbreak was first reported this month in Britain - which has registered 111 cases, mostly in children under 10 - and has since been identified in at least 12 countries worldwide. Some 40 cases have been recorded in the European Union and European Economic Area.
