Belgian pianist Jean-Francois Maljean unveiled a piano piece to send his sincere wishes to the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Games, which kicked off with a grand opening ceremony held at the National Stadium on Feb 4.

Titled For Beijing Olympics, the piano piece, which is about 3-minute long, was commissioned by the Chinese embassy in Belgium, aiming to celebrate the Chinese New Year and welcome the Beijing Games.

"I loved the idea of composing a music piece for this spectacular winter gathering. I'm very glad that the Winter Olympics are happening even when the situation (COVID-19 pandemic) is still a bit problematic. Congratulations to China for running this event," said the pianist, adding that he is a big fan of sports, such as running, swimming, soccer and table tennis.
