The global economy has struggled to see development in the past two years, because of the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Ben May, who is director of global research with Oxford Economics, says that in 2022 the global economy will face many uncertainties, but some economies will gradually phase out emergency measures and re-open.

Some economies might gradually return to normalcy and the supply chain pressure will also ease, two years after the pandemic first broke out.

May discussed uncertainties such as the possible impact of some governments' tightening fiscal policies on the global economy, to what extent households will spend, and to what extent inflation will go down.
