More asymptomatic cases emerge in Shanghai
Shanghai reported three locally transmitted asymptomatic COVID-19 cases on Thursday, the municipal government announced on Friday.
Authorities said that one case, a 54-year-old, was a close contact of an asymptomatic case who arrived from other parts of the country and was reported as a confirmed asymptomatic case on Monday.
The other two, aged 45 and 33, were close contacts of three asymptomatic cases that also came from outside Shanghai and had been reported as asymptomatic cases on Tuesday.
The three newly reported asymptomatic cases have been sent to a designated hospital for further medical observation and treatment. And their 34 close contacts have been put under hotel quarantine.
Shanghai also reported 24 imported confirmed cases and two imported asymptomatic cases on Thursday.
