Former senior provincial official under probe

BEIJING -- Zhang Jinghua, former deputy secretary of the Jiangsu Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China (CPC), is being investigated for suspected severe violations of discipline and law.

The investigation is being conducted by the CPC Central Commission for Discipline Inspection and the National Supervisory Commission, according to a statement released on Wednesday.
