Forum brings energy experts on green transition
An online forum on the creative development of energy sectors was held on Nov 20 at China University of Petroleum (Beijing), gathering experts to discuss how to achieve the carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals and push forward the green transition of the energy industry.
The event was also held as a celebration of the 65th anniversary of the founding of the university's school of economics and management.
Wu Xiaolin, president of China University of Petroleum (Beijing), said that the energy industry is at a key stage of its transition. The university should focus on the solution of carbon reduction and cultivate inter-disciplinary talent for the frontier of the energy industry.
She added that such sub-disciplines as energy system and carbon management have been launched by the school of economics and management. The university aims to make contributions to the country's creative development of energy sectors.
More than 18,000 people from universities, institutes, think tanks and enterprises attended the online forum.
