Recent COVID-19 cases reported in Beijing are part of the same chain of transmission as confirmed patients in Gansu province and the Inner Mongolia autonomous region, a senior capital official said on Wednesday.
Three independent sub-transmission chains have been identified in Beijing involving cases in Fengtai and Changping districts and other places in the city, said Pang Xinghuo, deputy director of the Beijing Center for Disease Control and Prevention, at a news conference.
Beijing reported three new locally transmitted cases as of 2 pm on Wednesday, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in Beijing to 20, plus one asymptomatic case. The local health authority is undertaking control measures.
