10 more bodies found in flooded tunnel
Rescuers found another 10 bodies of workers trapped in the Shijingshan Tunnel in the Zhuhai Special Economic Zone of Guangdong province on Wednesday night, bringing the total number deaths in the accident to 13.
One person remains missing, the on-site rescue headquarters said on Thursday. Rescuers will continue to spare no effort in the search for the last worker, it said.
Meanwhile various departments will try to comfort the families of the victims in the days to come, it said.
The tunnel, part of the southern section of the Zhuhai Xingye Expressway, flooded at about 3:30 am on lastThursday, trapping a total of 14 workers inside.
A total of 46 rescue teams with more than 2,500 rescue workers, 350 sets of heavy machinery and more than 200 vehicles were sent to the site to assist over the past week.
